Gabritsa House
The task: a summer house on a south slope with a wonderful view towards the forest on the edge of the village of Gabritsa in the Rhodope Mountains. The requirements: enough space for the large family, easily constructed, suitable to put away for winter.
The inspiration came from the place itself. The house is conceived as an interpretation of an old mountain barn (from Rhodope region in Bulgaria) – with stone half-underground floor open towards the lawn and timber-clad upper floors. The house is constructed as prefabricated. The wooden shutters allow complete closure in winter.
